Exploring the World of Diplomacy

The Junior Diplomat Initiative (JDI) was founded on 28 October 2011 for students of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in International Studies and Diplomacy, and other students with an interest in diplomacy. It was founded at the Faculty of International Relations (FMV) of Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE). JDI aims to create opportunities for students to gain experience and information from the diplomatic world through educational events – seminars, workshops, excursions, panel discussions or Diplomatic Salons. During these events, students meet experts from the world of diplomacy. We strive to help students better understand the world of diplomacy.  The organization expanded to the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva in 2013 and to Sciences Po Paris in 2015.

  • ✈️ This April, Junior Diplomat Initiative organized a study trip to Geneve, Switzerland 🇨🇭. 🌐 We visited The Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations, where we had the opportunity to participate in a discussion with diplomats there. 🎓 We also visited the CERN museum and the International Red Cross museum. By invitation, we attended a panel discussion on the future of diplomacy with distinguished guests Tan Hung Seng, Singapore's Permanent Representative to the WTO and WIPO, Hiddo Houben, Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of the EU to the WTO and Michael Kolie, Trade Policy Analyst at the WTO, hosted by @jdigeneve. 💙 We are grateful for the new opportunities that this trip has offered us and for the great experiences that have opened the world of diplomacy for us.

Se studenty diskutoval o aktuálních otázkách týkajících se vztahů nejen v Evropě, ale i o vztazích globálního charakteru. Událost přinesla zajímavou diskusi na téma účasti žen v diplomacii. 🎙️ Naši hosté z Ministerstva zahraničních věcí ČR a Zastoupení Evropské komise v ČR – Veronika Mítková, Andrea Kučerová, Jana Hybášková a Eva Horelová – sdíleli své bohaté zkušenosti v oblasti diplomatického působení.
