"To me JDI is synonymous with motivation and determination. In the ten years of its existence, I have watched as many of its members were not afraid to follow their dreams. They graduated from the most prestigious institutions in the field of international studies in Europe thus starting promising diplomatic careers. Thanks to JDI I myself have gained a number of experiences, memories and true friends. That is quite a feat to accomplish in only ten years! To all the current JDI members: keep following your dreams!"
"When Ludvík Eger, Ondřej Wágner and Kamila Harabinová came to me more than 10 years ago to inform me about the founding of Junior Diplomat Initiative at the VŠE, I was thrilled. I liked the idea very much and I gladly agreed to be a patron of this organization. However, had you asked me then if I expected that this initiative would be so successful even ten years later, with more than a hundred events involving more than three and a half thousand participants, I would have probably hesitated with my answer. Many ideas will shine for a while and then quietly fizzle out. This is not the case with JDI. On the contrary, my sincere congratulations to all of you who have been or will be involved in the running of JDI. You have a firm place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, you are well-known and many of my colleagues are happy to speak at your events. Indeed, all this is also embodied in the Memorandum of Cooperation between the JDI and the MFA. We can also look at the abbreviation "JDI" in the context of the Czech language where it means “go”. And this word "to go" contains within it an instruction to press forward with courage, with vigour, and with a goal in mind. This is my wish for the many years that Junior Diplomat Initiative has yet to come and for all of you who will embark on this journey."
